During the week of July 4th, I got to spend it in Island Park, Idaho. Some Utahans came to the shooting pit with about every pistol that one could have, I shot my 10 inch SBH. They let me shootan alaskan, a bisley sbh hunter, and a few others. They shot my ten. After shooting, they all wanted the ten sbh. I always wanted a bisley hunter but not after shooting it. I was a lot better shot with my ten . So mmuch for dreaming.

What didn't you like about the Bisley Hunter, if I may ask?

+1...I've got one that'll drive tacks; stock, out of the box.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

+2. Not to gang up, just interested. There's no wrong answer.

I would venture to guess it was the grip. He does have and love 10.5" Super Blackhawk.

I was a handgun hunter, when handgun wasn't cool.....

Some folk prefer the plow handle grip and some folks prefer the Bisley grip frame. I prefer the Bisley but I don't mind the plow handle either.

I prefer the standard grip on my SBHH. For whatever reason, I can't seem to shoot the bisley style nearly as well. I grew up shooting / learning on my dad's plowhandle Super Blackhawk, so maybe it has to do with what folks cut their teeth on.

I thought i would love the bisley grip, but i did not. I have and love my trooper and all my smiths. It felt like shooting a redhawk and those guns feel too top heavy for me. The bisley felt the same. I am wierd i guess!

Nope. To each his own. I like the Bisley, but can shoot the plow just as well. Just a preference.

Ruger needs me to help redesign their pistols. They need smoother lines and less words. Allfront sights need to be screwed on. The rear sights need to be more stout. And no aluminum whatsoever, and no paint- blued metal only.

I really never liked the feel of a redhawk . They feel extremely top heavy. I think that the bisley felt like the redhawk.
I like going to the shooting range and shooting others guns, and let other shooters try my pistols and rifles. I can not afford to buy one then not like it. I thought that i would love lots of well made guns then after shooting them, i changed my mind.

Funny I had hunted and shot Blackhawks, plow grips, for 30 some years until a few years ago when I purchased my bisley hunter in 45 colt. I never really liked the looks of the bisley grips! But I do love the feel of them over the plow grips. My SBHH is darn accurate.
