This photo shows the great singing cowboy Roy Rogers in Rhodesia
on safari using a S&W model 27 .357Mag. Let me quote the writer
"Once I saw him kill a red forest hog running flat out with a single shot"....

if i'm not mistaken....his hometown was about 20 miles north of me(by road), in southern ohio.

Roy hunted with Elgin Gates, longtime president of IHMSA. Elgin also used a .357 (mdl. 28) to kill a cape buffalo, after it had treed him.

Before he went to Hollywood (and became Roy Rogers), he had a radio show in Roswell, NM (my home town).
