This photo shows the great singing cowboy Roy Rogers in Rhodesia on safari using a S&W model 27 .357Mag. Let me quote the writer "Once I saw him kill a red forest hog running flat out with a single shot"....

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Roy hunted with Elgin Gates, longtime president of IHMSA. Elgin also used a .357 (mdl. 28) to kill a cape buffalo, after it had treed him.

He was a pretty fair wingshot, too.
It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

Before he went to Hollywood (and became Roy Rogers), he had a radio show in Roswell, NM (my home town).
It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

Elgin Gates used the old pointed Winchester "Armor Piercing" load. I remember reading the story.

With "Rogers" for his last name you know he has some natural ability with a handgun, ... right Larry? LOL
