Well the project is 90% complete and I have enough passible pics to show what happened to it so here goes

The untouched gun

Disassembled
Getting ready to start on action.
The trigger/hammer engagement and the hammer strut have to be polished.

The parts showing the relationships

Remember to measure any cutting that involves clearences.
This is really important when polishing the sides of the hammer.
Don't worry about the machine marks. Just remove the high spots.

More later

The terrible front sight

The gun wrapped with first cuts made on front sight

Changed grips

A definite improvement, right down to the furniture.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

The back part of the sight you removed. What does it look like under that? Can we get a top view?

I've always wanted one but couldn't get past the looks. You made it look like something I want!

The gun is back at CA hopefully inspiring them to change the front sight. Sorta funny but after all that work I am getting a 5" barrel stuck on after they get done looking at it. Here we go again. With some loads that 5" tube picks up nearly 100fps over the 4" gun. They had one barrel left and I got it. Under that sight it was simply silver soldered on the rib I cut it down to the solder except about 5/8" out from the newly formed post. When it gets back I am going to modify the sight on the 5" barrel. reflex264
