When I had my Striker in 243 I didn't have dies so shot Hornady's Light Magnum load and it shot about an inch, but I never killed anything with it so can't comment about that. Most rifle loads will shoot fine in a 14" pistol, just a tad slower.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I was running 37.5gr of IMR 4895 behind a 70gr ballistic tip with good success when I was playing with that caliber. I would say, that's a good place to start..

a max load of AA2015 with a 87gr v-max shot really good in a 15" encore. tried several before I found that one.

Kentucky….no place like home.

I load 36.5grs of Varget behind a 75gr HP Sierra very accurate. I have a Krieger 1-10" 18" long barrel on my striker

I set up my 243 Striker and went to the Nosler 95grn Ballistic Tip for most of my hunting.
I came up with a load after some work using 34 grn of Varget, Fed 210 primers and OAL 2.700. I put it over the chrono and it was running 2443 fps average at 35 degrees outside. I was getting 1" or better at 100yds and with my 3x12 Burris Ballistic Plex scope the last line for distance put it on at 415yd with 1.5" high at 100 yd.
I also worked up a load for big deer and pigs with the Sierra 100grn Pro Hunter bullet and 33 grn of Varget. It is running 2304 fps. This load took down two antelope and a whitetail doe a few years back. Forgot my Ballistic Tip loads.

I have a .243 win. barrel on my Striker right now and was shooting .50 and .75 moa at 100 yards using IMR8208XBR 37.5gr, cci lg rifle primers, Sierra 75gr. hp
Which are now called the pro hunters I think. I was hitting a gong at 300 yards with a ground hog painted on it. Killed it 9 out of 10 shots. I am now working up loads with IMR4895 to see how it does compared to the 2808xbr.
That is my favorite barrel for the striker (16.5"). I'll be switching it out to a .308win. barrel shortly for my elk hunt in Nov. Then switch it back for coyotes.
Love that .243win. caliber!!
