Less than 5 days till squirrel season starts here. Who is going to be hunting with a rimfire handgun? What are you shooting and what ammo are you using?

Ruger Mark III with Volquartsen competition kit installed. Topped with an Ultra Dot, Match Dot II. Shoots Remington target or Winchester high velocity. Squirrel hunting with a rimfire is one of my favorites.

Never had call for a season to shoot tree rats, but I have a new 13" MGM 22LR Match barrel for the Contender in the works. Will be topped off with a 3-9x rifle scope on a Ken Light UAS mount. Li'l critters are doomed.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

SSK MK III with suppressor, 38 gr. Aguila subsonic HPs. THey never hear you. Bullet striking is louder than the gun. I've taken over 100 squirrel with it.

Good to hear what you guys are shooting. S & W Mod. 17 is my main side arm in the war against the little grey ghosts. Made it a goal a couple years ago to try to harvest a squirrel with every rim fire handgun I own. Made it thru all the Smith's except a old Mod.34. Going to start working on Ruger Single actions and my Semi Auto rim fires this year. I use Winchester Power Points in almost all rim fire handguns. Still able to use iron sights on my guns but thinking about putting a red dot on a S & W Mod. 41. Going to check zeros on handguns and rim fire rifles today (I hope) Good luck with everyone's hunting !!!

If I can get out to do some squirrel hunting I will be taking my S&W 22A, usually my small game hunting is done while I'm checking traps or if I just happen to be at my parents I will sneak off with my pistol and walk my uncles shelter belt. Good luck to everyone.

Nice guns guys! Glad to see a few people still enjoy squirrel hunting even if its not fashionable with the T.V. hunting crowd.
