Im looking at a FA 83 454. The asking price is $1500. Is this a fair price for this revolver? Its in very good shape and open sights.

Bigger ain't always better....according to who???

They are quite common and can be had for less in my experience.

If its a Premier Grade in excellent shape, the price is not bad. If its a Field Grade, the price is high. If its an early one with the replaceable forcing cone, I'd pass too.

I recently bought a like new Premier grade with an extra 45lc cylinder, two sets of grips, and three front sight blades for $1550. I'd look a little more if I were you.

It all depends on the shape of the gun, for some 1500 would be too much for others a good buy. The FA guns have gone up considerably in the last couple of years from what I've seen on GunBroker

Not only that, but I was at the factory the other week, and Bob said they are about 13 months out if you were to order a new one right now
