HI, very new to handgun hunting. I have a new ruger SBH bisley hunter in 44 mag and after two rounds of shooting the grip frame screws have become loose. I am wondering if this is common and should I put some blue Loctite on them?.

I like the blue loctite. I use it on my 460 S&W and my 500JRH screws. Never had an issue with them after applying it.

Just tighten them back up and see if it continues. If it persists then drop a little blue. Did you check the screws before first use?

The Nyloc screws that Ruger uses are not supposed to loosen like that. But, I guess stranger things have happened. Blue locktight should work fine though.

I had the screws of a scope mount loosen on my 460. A drop of Loctite on each screw fixed that issue. Although, just to make sure that screws weren't loose to begin with, you should tighten them without using Loctite to see if they will hold by themselves. If so, problem solved. If not, well, you know what to do.

I have put countless heavy recoiling rounds through my SBHs and never had the grip frame screws loosen on me.

Make sure you use a correct "gunsmith screwdriver" to get the best bite on the screws when tightening them and to keep from buggering up the heads.

Thank you for the replies. I did notice before taking the gun out that the screws were loose and I did tighten them up , but I did not use a gunsmith screwdriver and I did not really torque them that tight not knowing how tight they should be. And I wanted to clarify the statement above about (two rounds of shooting) two different trips out with 50 rnds each through the gun.
