I picked up a Savage take off rifle barrel for my Striker. Would like some info on a good long range bullet and load for it. I am thinking of cutting the barrel down to between 16.5" and 18". Anyone have any suggestiom?
It will be used for large mule deer and long range Coyotes.
Thank you in advance.

I've found IMR 4350 with a 130 grain Hornady SST to be an accurate combination, regardless of the exact load. H4831 with the same bullet achieved higher velocities, but it was just slightly less accurate.
