Just did a little research and figured out that I can use a maroon scotchbrite pad to "lightly and carefully" remove small scratches on my FA premier grade.

I was delighted to see this, because no matter how careful I am, I always seem to put a few new ones in it, after all it is a hunting tool and I do use it like one
;\)

cool to see that there is something I can do about it now though. gotta head to Carquest sometime soon!

BB,

I like the maroon with a little bit of oil. Mine is a Field grade that I have bead blasted and done all kinds mods, but using oil like kroil or even break free will temper the maroon just a tad. Hunting, running a saw or even stretching fench every now and again no way to keep them perfect.

Yup, it's a tool to hunt with, plink with or perhaps even save your bacon......

Craig thanks for the tip!

Worked a few skuffs out of my premier grade and my Ruger SBHH earlier this afternoon before I checked this, so I went with no oil, but they both turned out perfect!

the scratches weren't major, but If a guy can get rid of them like that why not? both like out of the box new now!

It is better if the maroon Scotchbrite pad has been used a bit rather than starting with a brand new one.
