Well I got an issue that needs solved and figured you guys are the ones to help me decide. Recently my daughter has wanted to start deer hunting with ol dad and she wanted my .260 mountain rifle. Well ol dad without hesitation agreed.

Now for the problem. I need a new gun to hunt the open fields where I live and my .41 mag sbhh nor my super redhawk .480 is up to the task. So one must go to fund a new rifle. Don't know which one to keep and which to let go. Before it is even said both pistols I can shoot and they both feel good so that is out the window. So help me decide.

Hey man, you gonna shoot that thang or not?

Never sell one to buy anorher you always wind up regreting it.Find another toy to get rid of ,like your wifes car, never your pickup truck.

my super redhawk .480

How much you want for it?

You got a tough choice, dump both and get your rifle AND a 45 Colt wheelgun ;-)

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

If I decide to get rid of the 480 I will holler at you s4s4u. Would love to have the SBHH in 45 colt as soon as one of the companies decide they want another run of them.

I agree with Junebug that you shouldn't get rid of any, however if push came to shove my thought would be to get rid of the .41

A 480 SRH is a pretty amazing pistol, accuracy wise, and has boatloads of energy. If you want to run heavy projectiles you can run just a little north of 420gr and still have speed in the 1200 fps range.
Go lighter (275 ish) and the 480 can approach 1600 fps which should be a very flat shooting round.

There is nothing that the 41 can do that the 480 can't do as well or better.

Well, if you retail your gun and get a good full used retail price for it, I guess you should unload the easier to replace one. That way, if you decide to re-buy it, you have a better chance of finding it.
If, on the other hand, you are going to wholesale it (sell or trade it to someone who will retail it) you will loose more money than it is worth. Wholesale : retail on a car might be 10%, but on a gun it is more like 40%. You will never be able to rebuy that gun with what you wholesale it for.
Right now you have the golden opertunity to own your gun at a great savings. Just don't sell it. See? that was easy.
How many gun THAT YOU LIKED have you sold and been happy that you sold them? Yeah, I sold a gun once. A Highpoint 9, replaced it with a Sig. Yeah I'm still happy, but that HP wasn't one I liked.
You said you like both your guns.
So keep them. Find the money eleswhere. Wait a bit and save up for the rifle. Don't wholesale anything you like.

Funny thing happened in the shop today. I was talking to a guy that was traveling to each gun store in the area and was looking for a .260 mountain rifle. I told him that I just gave one to my daughter that is in immaculate condition. he offered me a $1000 on the spot without looking at it. I had to refuse because that gun belongs to daddy's lil girl.

Those little girls do pull at your heart strings don't they! My Baby girl will be 31 Saturday. They grow up way to fast. You have until next season to get another rifle, don't be in a hurry and sell something you will regret later .You did the right thing by your daughter, good deeds are always repaid.
P.S. If you sweet talk her she may let you use her new rifle.
You will have to supply your own shells though.

look into an h&r handi rifle, and keep both handguns. single shot rifle hunting is a lot of fun also.

Everything before "but" is B.S.
