Another deer season has come to an end. Luckily me my dad and lil brother got quite a few days to hunt together. I got a button buck but the shot that arose was better suited for the shotgun. I did have a nice doe in the scope of the 308 encore at around 300 yds but just couldnt convince myself that i was steady enough, which is quite the feat for me to pass on a shot being a meat hunter.
the handguns did get get some action though and the excitement was from a surprising source!!
I got this big male with the sw 1006 10mm. I had 180gr hollow points and it took 3 shots to kill it. Ive found that opposums are some darn tough critters!! Was lotsa fun getting it as my dad held the spotlight.
This smaller one took 2 guns!
Spotted him running through woods then couldnt find it only to look up and be eye to eye at 10 yds. I think i was too close for the 44mag as i just parted his hair. So i pullled out my carry gun and put 2 bodyshots in with 380 critical defense loads. I do skull taxidermy so avoid head shots. It was loads of fun and alwags makes for great stories back at deer camp!! After all that what its all about, the memories!!
Kinda far away but heres the guy that made at all my hunting antics possible!!!
He was puttin a mini drive on towards me in my stand
