I can't believe it. I sign up here two days ago and this morning I picked up the BFR and head into the woods. Right after first light I moved into a thicket to be more concealed. 20 minutes later this one comes trotting right up to me at 10 yards. The 45-70 really did a job. 325gr Hornady LeverEvolution had a complete pass through. She went a couple yards and died in the stream. Thats why the dragging rope is still on, and no she wasn't tied to a tree. I've allready heard that one. That has to be some kind of speed record. Sign up here and get a deer in two days. You guys must have a lucky horse shoe imbeded into this site. I'm hooked now and loving it.

that close, you should have bonked her on the noggin' with that barrel of yours, tied the rope on her and lead her to your truck for an easy shoot and load ;^)

Congrats on a fine job done,

Craig

First off welcome to the site and the addiction. We like them close and you used enough gun. You should fit right in .It is an addiction ,you don't have to sell your long guns but oil them well as they won't get used much anymore.

I have had the BFR for a few years now, but haven't been able to use it for about that long too. I got it, sighted it in, then suffered an arm injury, and haven't been able to shoot a hand gun since. My arm started feeling better for about a month now, so I got thinking about it. I revisited this website and thought, why not, and there it is.

Yeah, she was close. I wipped the powder burns off while she was in the stream.

Thanks all, it's nice to know there are others that share the excitement of a successful handgun hunt. I can't wait to do it again this weekend.
