I really liked the Hienie Straight 8 sight set up I had on my old 1911. Has anyone found or tried a set up like this on a Ruger Blackhawk? Thanks. Semper Fi.
Never used them. The question is can you shoot accurately with them at the distances you will be hunting at. I use 3 dot sights on my carry gun. I believe they are more for center mass shooting for personal protection. But if you shoot accurately with them go for it.
Stock sights with some orange sharpie on front sight. I have been using an Ultradot lately. But I will be using open sights on the 4" SRH 45 colt I have coming. I also ordered the See-all open sight to see if it is worth a crap. Seems like a great concept but don't know if it will be precise enough. If it is I will be ecstatic. Older eyes and open sights can be tough.

I have used bright yellow model car paint before that worked well, and I may just end up going that route.
Please let us know how the See-all open sight works out. Interesting concept.
So here is what I did for now. I painted them last night in preperation for today's hunt. They did very well in first and last light. To bad I didn't see any deer today. Oh well. Sorry for the bad pic, but you get the idea. Semper Fi.
