I've got a 2X Leupold in 4 Weigand rings on a Weigand base on mine and it has held up well. Like Doc, I have shot mine "a lot"!

I'd love to hear the stories that go with both of those bears...

Mine was simple. Guide said I'd be CLOSE to the bears and need multiple shots. I thought my .416 Taylor Encore that I killed my elephant with would work great. He said no. Need multiple shots up close. I killed this across a river coming in to the lake at 129 yards, one shot, with 375 gr. X. Go figure.

My Leupold 2.5-8 has held up well over the years. It has been mounted on this 460 since 2007 and before that it was on a 454 Freedom Arms. I bought the scope in 1999.

I notice some of you have the 3 and 4 ring setups. Looking to put a Nikon 2.5-8 on my 500s&w. I know some recommend it but is it really necessary?
