Checking the Wyoming Game site this morning and found that my two buddies and I were drawn for unit 52 in Southern Wyoming for Antelope just West of Laramie. One of them lives just east of there.
I have my XP100R .260 and my Encore .243 loads worked up, zero'd on the bench, shooting sticks and prone on my back pack. Might have my Encore 6.5 Rem Mag zero'd by then and take if for super long range. Can't wait to go. Come on Sept.

Hoorahh for u guys-- any of those rigs will do it out west here-- especially that 6.5. What a great cartridge for the long-range game-- i assume u're gonna put the Burris 3-12X on it-- Ball. Plex reticle maybe???

Oh yeah, over the yrs. hunting antelope we've really learned to crawl on them with knee pads, heavy-duty leather gloves. I also use the same system for coyotes later. There have been very few times when we've put a good deal of effort into crawling when we couldn't get close enuf for a shot-- seems they just don't alert much to anything with a low profile on the prairie. If u're interested u may wanna take a look at this article XPhunter posted awhile back--

I remember reading some posts by your or maybe Ernie, anyway about crawling around and I would need good knee pads, gloves and maybe elbow pads. I have them from my in-line skating. I hope to have the 3x12 on one of the pistols. The 6.5 Rem Mag has a Burris 3x9 on it now and works pretty good. I think it would benefit more from the 3x12 and take the 3x9 and put it on my .243 or .260.
I have been shooting off a back pack like you guys talk about and it works well. I'm also going to try and get the tripod setup that NMHunter has on a post.
My buddy is not happy because I read on the regs where the caliber has to be .023 or larger and he was planning on using his 22-250 Encore rifle. I'm not sure how picky they would be if he was caught.
Anyway, I'm pumped and will be shooting more to get ready. I have the 260, using 120grn Sierra GameKings, the 6.5 Rem Mag using the same and the .243 using 100grn Gamekings and Pro Hunters. The 243 just hasn't like the Ballistic Tips so far while developing a load.
More updates as I get ready. Lots of photos will be taken and if I can remember I will make notes and maybe try to make a little story to go on the article section about my 6.5 Rem Mag or the other two which ever does best.

congrats on the hunt. Sounds like you are ready to go. I love the looks of that bench, by the way. Do you have any info on it?
