I have a 44 magnum super redhawk that I hunt with in heavy cover. Is there any way to make it look like the target grey ones or have some type of camo job put on it. When I sit in my stand it looks like it is glowing.

The poor man's fix would be to use some of that black hockey tape to wrap the barrel and use some flat pieces on the sides of the frame.

Back in the day before you buy cammo toilet paper and everything else, us bow hunters would use the archery spray paint. The came/come in various dull colors, and come off easily with any type of gun solvent. Bows would easily hold up for the duration of the season, then we could take it off for the rest of the year.

Check out MAD Custom Coating at madcustomcoating.com they did an absolute outstanding job on my stainless S&W 625. They have a great gallery of their work on line. They even did my hunting rifle and it looks great even after a 48 mile hunt on horseback.

You want whats pleasing to your eye. The deer dont care! Scent and movement are top priority.

One option would be to have the gun bead blasted with a dark media. This one was done more than 20 years ago by Gordon Logan, and is actually darker than it shows up in the photo; its approximately the shade of Ruger's Target gray, but was done several years before Ruger introduced that finish:

What about camo gun tape? It may not last more than a season or so, but it's an inexpensive fix.
