I bought the S&W PC Stealth Hunter and have put about 100 rnds thru it.It shoots real well,very accurate but its on the classifieds .Just cant warm up to it much.

Me too. I've fired several double action and just can't warm up to them. I like my single actions.

I'm right there with ya now. I've owned my last double action revolver.

I too prefer single-actions to double-actions, and then I get my hands on an SRH like the one I just got from Ruger and it's just hard to find fault in it........it's so confusing.......

What is it about single-actions that make y'all prefer them over double-actions? I've never shot a single-action, and my experience with handguns in general is somewhat limited.

Accuracy. Better trigger.

I would like to try a BFR in 475, but for now I'm very content with my SRH 480.

That Stealth Hunter of yours is one fine looking, fine shooting handgun! It should sell quick. Wish I had the spare change for it!

Vance that 480 SRH will sure do all you need it to,I like the bfr as Ive had one 475L and 454 and was a fool to sell them,this Stealth has about as good a trigger as your gonna find.

Not necessarily. I prefer the way in which a single-action delivers recoil better than a DA, and I think SAs are much more aesthetically pleasing than DAs. But, like Ken, I love 'em all.

I have to admit, I haven't had a ton of either one. But the DA revolvers I did have were no where near as good as the SA triggers. Which, most likely, translated into the better accuracy for the SA.

The recoil thing.... I guess I never even considered that. I like the looks of both of them just fine, but for hunting, and when it just has to be dead nuts on, I'll take the SA every time now.

I just started shooting a DA action again after a VERY long time. Even though a 45 Super out of an N frame Smith or 357's out of a snubby Colt are no where near the power level of the 44's and 454's and larger, I can definately appreciate the SA roll to take up the bite, now.

But boy howdy, I feel like a new shooter trying to learn this DA thing again. Very humbling, in a good way. And I think I will be able to "tolerate" having both styles around, now ;^)

i was overexposed to Ross Seyfreid growing up. he said the 45 colt and a proper single action was the end all hunting handgun and i beleived him. that and the realization that a ruger blackhawk could take a regular diet of stuff that would send a smith back to the factory in short order. i have the token security six and model 28 but when i head to the woods, it is a 44 special om or 45 bisley that usually on my person.

I seem to always be on the opposite end of the spectrum. Although i've always been drawn to the looks and lines of the SAs. I prefer to shoot the DAs. The DAs just seem to recoil in a manner that i find more comfortable. I used to own a 44 SBH but after a motorcycle accident i could no longer handle the recoil. I hated to sell it off and as much as I'd love to have another i avoid picking one up. I think if i were to go down that road again it would be the a stainless steel Ruger Bisley in 45 LC

swapped a 5.5 44 redhawk fro 5.5 sbh because i wanted the single action. both are nice guns but neather is a match to the dan wesson that i had.
