Never owned one but spent a good deal of time behind a few of them. The main ones being 338 federal. Exceptionally accurate and easy on your hands. Handles like a model 83 to me. I love the lever actuated action release. They are very nice guns.

Thank you for the response. Thinking about one in .308 and .260. Undecided for now. I spoke with them the other day and they stated a three month waiting time. Wondering about entering the LR rifle world instead.

I think with the right glass on it, you would be amazed at he distances you could stretch it out with that 260 barrel

I owned one in 6.5 Swede. I enjoyed shooting it, like Glenn said very accurate. Like a fool I sold it when the SA bug bit. Always thinking about reordering one in 260 or 243.

A 260 would be my pick of the cartridges mentioned, if the distance bug was biting me.

I own two receivers and 4 bbls -- 260 Rem, 6.5x55 AI, 7-08 and 338 Federal. I love them all. I have not shot my contenders or encores very much since getting the FA single shots. Very accurate and easy to shoot.
It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

I was impressed with the 2008 when I got to handle one at the factory last year.
Like Glenn mentioned, I liked the locking mechanics of it. the new contoured forearms realy make them look sharp too.
I have one on my long list of "wants"
