After an unsuccessful turkey hunt I was heading out of the swamp when from the dike road I spotted this fella doing his thing. I parked the truck pulled out my SBH, nicely fitted with DT 300gr Nosler JHP's. Stalked up to 15 yds & let it ride. I was shocked when I saw him take off. I was expecting him to drop in his tracks. I ran to where he was standing when I shot him & found no blood. As walked in the direction he ran I looked up & saw him laid out bout 30 yds away. He was a rough fella & unsuitable for consumption. You will notice his left ear is missing. Maybe that's why he didn't run when I drove by. All in all I'm tickled to death. Can't wait for the next one.

Congrats man & welcome to the club!! There is nothing better than taking game with your handguns. If one is going to talk the talk, they need to walk the walk. You Sir, did just that!

quit now while you are ahead. handgun hunting is a habit forming addiction that will empty your bank accounts and leave you glassy eyed. in all seriousness congrats on your first handgun trophy.

Congrat's on your first of many! Welcome to HH, also.

BINGO, when I got home & hung him up to rinse him off & clean him I noticed a bunch of open sores all over his right ear. He was already scrawny & smelled something awful. I wasn't about to take a chance so I dug him a nice resting place in the back yard. There are more good hogs in swamp I hunt so I hope to have another opportunity at one. Last Saturday I missed a nice sow with a shotgun. So it's just a matter of time & effort.

You are right, that is a rough look'in sucker. You better spray the revolver with rubbing alcohol.

Other than that, good story and good job. Can't believe it didn't drop. But 30 yards is not bad. Nice gun also. Kinda big for turkey hunting though. lol.
