LABRAT and I both are having withdrawals after having to put the hog hunt off. Turkey hunting is keeping me occuoied for the moment but will be over soon enough. We did get out two of teh flat top drift sighted single sixes the other day and got a littel practice. Both of us were hitting 28ga hulls off hand at 25 yeards then both of us hit bottle caps. That made me feel a little better. Anybody know a remedy until the fall when we should finally head up there after some pork? reflex264

You're not the only one going through hunting withdrawal. I've been trying to power through it since January. I think we need to form a support group.

I like to take walks through my food plots every now and then. I can't tell you why, but walking through a field of ankle deep clover is satisfyingly refreshing.

I usually dont hunt as soon as our deer season open in mid August because of the bugs, heat, and snakes. This year I believe I will be hunting openning day. A support group sounds good.

When I was in the Navy I hunted deer in Francis Marion Forest it was brutal. Saw more snakes than deer.

Nothing has changed. Except the National Forest is full of hogs now too.

reflex,

An exotic hunt in Texas always satisfies my urges. Doesn't really have to be Texas, but a good exotic preserve is a very good alternative off-season handgun hunt...Lot's of fun!

Problem right now is getting off work long enough to do anything. Our secretary is out for at least another month recovering from brain surgery. That means I have to be here since she and I were the only ones that went through school on the current software. If we crash bad news. I can dream about it I guess. reflex264

Sounds like a good time to research some places to hunt.

I'm headed out Friday - NRA Convention on Saturday, hog hunting in Oklahoma Monday through Wednesday.

Just thought I'd be an a$$.....
