Anyone ever put one of these on a Contender or Encore, or any other pistol for that matter ? Any advice for or against ?

They are obnoxiously loud! More so than any other brake I have shot. If your nose is running, it will blow the snot out of it. I don't own a gun with one, but one of my friends does. The brake is very effective in controlling recoil, but the concussive force you feel is No Fun.

There's always a trade off. However much that brake reduces recoil, it would likely more make up for it in muzzle blast.

Thanks guys. Didn't even consider muzzle blast.

There are a few discussions of that brake on AR15.com

The long and short, great for recoil reduction, massive concussion for the shooter and anybody to the sides.

OTOH, it is great for clearing out the benches on either side of you when shooting at a packed range.
