I have this SBH for years and it came with a set of AJAX plastic grips. I just finished working a stock for a co worker and used some Brownells textured spray.

I sanded using my detail sander with 100 then 400 grit. Cleaned with acetone then sprayed the grips using black (comes in other colors). I then stippled the front and rear like a 1911.

Interesting to say the least they are now not slick and have a texture not as coarse as skateboard tape.





Sometimes it is entirely appropriate to kill a fly with a 12 pound sledgehammer!

She's a pretty one. What are the advantages to the rougher texture? Is it to keep a tighter hold on it while shooting, or is it mostly aesthetic?

The stippled frame looks like gun fell on concrete and got a serious case of road rash.
