Model 29-4 S&W 44 mag <100 rounds fired $650 plus actual shipping? Bare gun only. I trust the condition as I know the seller. As a 1988 model it has the crush fit barrel and non-recessed cylinder, but he claims that the 6" barrel is rarer.

Is this a decent deal? Anybody with the model will it have a sexy trigger like my no dash 686?

My 8&3/8" mod 29-4 has a sweet trigger!
As to price I have no clue...

Jeff,

Having recently purchased a S&W in 45acp, I have been kinda snooping the S&W forums and GB. If you want a rock solid what's it worth, you can check the completed buys on GB. With that, if it truly has less than 100 rounds, and it is clean on the finish (hard to see from the pic) 650 is not a smoking deal, but pretty fair. Mint with box could be more like a grand.

I am not up on whether the barrel length is super rare, but not having the box/case and goodies makes it less of a collector piece v. a shooter.

Not being a dealer, but just a guy who loves guns, wheel guns in particular. S/W's in particular. .44mags being my favorite, I'd say that was a good deal. Not a steal, but if you know and like the guy, a good deal for you both.

Thanks guys! I think I'll push for $600 + shipping or at least $650 with him covering shipping. I was just looking for a fair deal for both of us. He seems to think he should be getting $800 to which I wished him luck. He's out of town so it will be a while. I don't need it as I have a SBH in 44 Mag and more pistols than some pawn shops, but I love my 686 and its trigger. Plus Dirty Harry. I'll update once I get things hashed out.

Jeff,

He might get 800 on line, with all the possible headaches that go with it. If he has the time, the camera and the inclination to make a little more, good for him. The whole point of buying and selling with friends/acquaintances is for both to benefit some.

Here in Northern NM, we have a Texas transplant singer/songwriter. One of his better is "NE Texan Women"........

Around here, the 6" is the most popular.
29's are going up like wildfire.
