This pig was shot using Winchester`s 240gr LSWC factory ammo. This is over 25 years ago. Can`t give an accurate report as I emptied the Redhawk into it and recovered 3 expanded bullets. That was so much fun. This was first time inside fence as I could no longer wait for deer season...
The load on the right is Winchesters 240gr SWC-GC that I used on this pig. The load on the left is Remingtons version showing a bullet I pulled. Whats interesting is that there were 22.0grs of what looked like 2400powder under the bullet...

This boar was shot with open sight Ruger Bisley in 45 Colt with a handload using a 280gr SWC-GC bullet over 23.0grs of H-110. The sun had set and a snow storm kicked up and we were driving back to the lodge in a 4-wheel machine when I spotted four boar in the drainage and shot the last one who looked biggest. The shot was high but knocked out the back legs and he pulled himself into a corner and turned to face me where I put one more in the shoulder at 10 feet. Lights out and no recovered bullets...

This big boar was shot with the same load used on the previous boar which was a 280gr SWC-GC over 23.0grs of H-100. Put a few holes in him before he went down. No recovered bullets...

These were kilt using a 300gr .430 Montana Bullet Works WFNGC hard cast over 19gr of H110; no recoveries of any bullets have been made....

This one was killed using a 245gr .429 semi-wadcutter over 18gr of 2400...

and this one was killed with a 385gr .475L over a max dose of H110...

That one was mine. He was too busy jumping the big ditch down the mountain to stay away from two very upset hogs. ;-)

KRal I love the pics with kids handgun hunting. We try to get as many kids in the woods as we can but in TN you have to be 18 to handgun hunt. Good job. reflex264

Shot this 300lb boar using a Lyman #454629 bullet over 21.0grs of
IMR4227. Handgun is a Texas Longhorn Arms #5.... the bullets zipped right through...

Kral, I know your son has me, and quite a few others, beat with the amount of kills made with cast bullets from his handgun. I would love to hear what he thinks of their performance...

James,
He loves them due to the accuracy from the Bisley Hunter. With the 300gr WFNGC MBW, it'll shoot one ragged hole at 50 yards. He also likes the idea of being able to get to the vitals from any angle, on light skinned game.

So far, he has not lost any game with them, but they don't seem to have quick dispatch like a good jacketed. That being said, dead is dead. The longer blood trailing is always suspenseful.

I just bought a couple hundred bullets from Bear Tooth with the same specs as the MBW. About out of MBW's, hope the BT's shoot as well as the MBW's (they're out of production).

Kim, That's great with your son`s way of thinking. He`s a shooter at his age who is better and has more handgun kills under belt then many three times is age. You have got to be so darn proud.......I`ve only heard good things about Beartooth....
