It's a no brainer, our very own Whitworth aka Max Prasac

I have both Mr. Rees and Mr. Prasac's books and plan to purchase the Ruger book. I would like to find some good handgun hunting videos. I used to own a VHS tape on deer hunting with handguns but cant for the life of me remember the name of the video or the name of the fella that was in it but I remember he was some type of doctor, anyone have any idea.

Cold Steel has "Handgun Hunting Down Under", which in my opinion is a very good action packed handgun hunting video. Lynn Thompson hunts Aussie Water Buff' and Hogs with many, many kills on this video. Some people don't like it because he killed 5 or 6 animals with a rifle and takes, in their opinion, "unethical shots" but....each to his own. It is all cull hunts, so nothing "sporting" about it but, its action packed. All done with a Ruger Red/Super Red Hawk in 44 mag.

Gregg Richter also has a great video out which covers all the basics, weapon types and hunting. Great informative video.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I agree that Lynn Thompson's video is a good one. I guess some folks find the anchoring shots he takes on running hogs disconcerting, but a running target is a lot harder to hit than a stationary target, and as far as I am concerned Lynn gets it done. To each his own. Gregg's is another must-have for the handgun hunter.

I'll add the DVD Handgunning Africa.
I saw Max's Ruger book at a book store. It looks great but I'm gonna check eBay for a better price.

Ebay??????????????? It's only around 20 bucks......($23 at Gun Digest, so it's even cheaper on Amazon).

Some folks think the only "ethical" way to shoot any critter is while it is stationary, broadside, and in the clear. Those folks would have a hard time hunting deer with us as we organize drives and them critters ain't standing still for nobody.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

There are a number of books out there, most are out of print, and many are dated but are worth reading. One of the better ones is Handgun Hunting by Nonte.

James covered some of them pretty well.
