Saw this at Gander Mountain in Paducah, Kentucky over the weekend. The phrase "because you can, doesn't mean you should" comes to mind.

Can you palm a basketball?

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I will have to say I'd love to shoot a Desert Eagle .50. Hunting with one would be decided by the results of shooting. If you buy one and want to hunt with it, go for it.

Ya'll just jealous. I'd buy it, move the sights to the right hand side and take it hunting anyday.

I bet I could hit a barn two out of three tries.

I like to DE, just not THAT one.

Way too shiny. Every deer in the county would know where you're at.
Would I hunt with one? Nope. I've got small hands and it's just too big for me to control.

My cousin had one of these that he actually used for concealed carry under his jacket. Holstered it under his left armpit. He's a big guy, so he hid it pretty well actually.

He had it for a couple months then sold it after the novelty wore off. I shot it a few times, and didn't think it was all that impressive.

I have a 50AE in black. I would definitely take it hunting. It is very accurate, plenty powerful, and reliable as any semi auto rifle if kept clean. The hard part is finding a grip that will work for you since the grips on the gun are so huge. I am actually considering using it for deer this year as I have been shooting it a lot lately (expensive to do) and am getting more and more confident with it. I wrote kind of an informal review of it a few days ago on another site. I can post it up here if there is any interest.

I bought a Desert Eagle .44 Magnum several years ago. They are amazing machines. My small hands would not allow a proper grip. (Any double column magazine gun is too large for me.) In order to fire it, my hand had to shift to reach the trigger. It was traded for a 1911.

I feel I should say that I have nothing against the Desert Eagle or its use in handgun hunting. A gold plated Desert Eagle on the other hand . . . .
