I plan to mount a 30 mm scope on my Ruger SRh 480 but I will need to buy some 30 mm rings.

I would like some input on what would be the best set of rings to put on my revolver. I seem to recall reading that Millett Angle Lock rings work better than the factory models. I figure that the people on this board have experience in these matters so I would like some advice.

Should I buy some Millett rings? Should I go with standard 30 mm factory? Any other suggestions?

I've heard the opposite. Leupold also makes rings for Rugers, but I've never had a problem with factory Ruger rings.

If you've not used/mounted the 1" rings that came with the gun, Ruger will exchange them for 30mm for no extra cost (other than maybe shipping.)

I bought a set of Warne Quick Detach 30mm rings that I can't use if you might be interested. The reason I couldn't use them is that the saddle of the UltraDot 30mm that I wanted to mount is only about 1mm too wide so that the rings wouldn't work. Unfortunately, the rings weren't cheap but they're not of any use to me.

What I ended up doing to mine was add the Weigand SRH+ Mount and use regular 30mm rings. http://www.jackweigand.com/srh.html
But it does eliminate the use of the fixed sights.

BigBore--May ask who makes a 30mm tube scope for a handgun ?? l would be interested in one of those..
