Just received my order from Midway. Federal Premium 180gr. Swift A Frame 357 Mag. Hope to use it on deer and black bear if they shoot good in the GP. Any thoughts?

Don't know about .357. I use 265 and 300 gr. in .454. Work and shoot excellent.

This is a recovered .50 cal. a-frame but is typical of any of the Swift bullets I recovered. What Doc said is perfect...

I just hunted bear with a guide that uses that bullet for bear, lion, and elk. He shoots itnout of a reeder 356 GNR. Its a great bullet. Perhaps the best handgun hunting bullet in existence.

Well looks like the A frames will make the trip. Shot a few today and they did great in the GP. I also tried a new load in the .44. They were PPU 300gr.SJFP's they shot really good as well. We're allowed 2 bear tags in the county I live in,who knows maybe I'll get one with each the .357 and the .44.

IMO it's the best jacketed bullet available

Do the A-frames need to be ran hot to perform? Or does the factory loaded stuff do as well?

Boot, the factory velocities from federal run a bit higher than losted in both 454 and 460. It may be the same for others as well. The 454 load is listed at 1530 fps and in really runs a out 1650. The 460 is list just over 1750 and runs a good 100 fps faster. Its very accurate and good stuff
