I was wondering if anyone has had a revolver cerakoted? Good/bad as far as durability goes? I have a new Super Black Hawk in stainless that gets surface rust on it every time you look at it. Looking for a good weather proof coating. Any suggestions would be greatly appricated.

I would not do the cylinder because of lock up problems at times if coat to thick. No problem with barrel and action I've seen.

What about parkerising, would that work. No worry about buildup and offers good protection.

I would just lightly oil it.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Melonite Awesome stuff Better get everything perfect before you do it though
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Robar can put various different finishes on the gun as well.

I had my S&W 625 cerakoted including all internals as well as cylinder by MAD Custom Coating along with my Tika T3, and Kimber Super Carry and they did an excellent job. http://www.madcustomcoating.com

Had a blue S&W model 34 in 22lr that was losing its finish so I had it hard chromed on recommendation of Austin Behlert and have never had a problem in all the years I have carried it. This gun has an extra cylinder in 22mag that has shot and finished more game then all my guns put together. The only maintenance I`ve done since being chromed was to brush out the barrel and cylinders...

Here's a pic of my Colt Python with Robar's NP3 treatment. It was originally blue but hunting with it and holster wear took it toll. I had it treated inside and out about 6-7 years ago and it looks the same as the day I got it back. This rig has taken many whitetails and a few coyotes.
