Hello, Has anybody ever had a Thompson contender 22 rimfire barrel converted to a centerfire cartridge? I have a 14 inch super match that I am considering converting to 22 k-hornet. I know that the grove diameter is .222 (or is it .223) and that modern .22 centerfires run with .224 (Hornady And sierra make these smaller bullet diameters), can I also run with .224 bullets in this barrel with a reduced load? Also is there in anyones opinion a better .22 centerfire for medium
range varminting, say inside of 200 yards (mostly inside 150 ). I would love to here some opinions and knowledge on this.
Thanks Joe
