How many NY hunters do we have here? Also, please post what section of the state you hunt in ie- NW, Central, Southern Tier, etc. I've hunted successfully with .357 Mag(preferred) and .44 Mag. in this state. The .44 Mag is just too big and uncomfortable for my medium size hands. I will be hunting this year with a Ruger GP100 .357 Mag w/6" bbl.

I'm from western, NY. I harvested with my 454 Casull, but have yet to do so with my 475 Linebaugh. I do plan to change that this year, with any luck.

Eastern NY, Dutchess County to be exact. Will be carrying my striker 516 in .308 win for the first couple days. Then if I go anyplace that offers a long range glass and shoot setup I will carry the M.O.A. in 6.5 x 47 lapua. Good luck and stay safe.

Hi, I am located in Orange County. I hunt Dutchess and Orange County. Opening day I will be in Dutchess with my S&W 657 41 mag. I have yet to take a deer with it, but this year it is all I am taking with me. Hopefully I will get a chance. Good luck to you all and stay safe.

Don,
Where is your cabin in the Catskills. I have a small camp outside of Grahmsville.

I'm usually hunting WMU's 3N and 3S, but occasionally in the Catskills (4W). I do it all; early bow, regular, and late MZ/bow seasons.

DJTJR. Having a cabin there, I assume your also a fly fisherman. That's a nice area of the Catskills. I went to school in Delhi.
