Ive always favored short guns.
As a teenage boy I had a book ( I think it was an early addition of The Complete book of 22LR)
I was "swallowed up" by the stories and articles of short gun hunting.
As a young man I had an H&R revolver, single six and a couple MKII's that endandered some tin cans at the local landfill.

Well those got sold or traded for other toys.
I am in the market for a 22 revolver to "take me back" to those simple times.

Festus,

I have a lot of high tech 22's, semi's, rifles, conversions on other guns, you name it. When I want simple I grab my Ruger Bearcat.

Fixed sights, dialed in with mini-mags. I can wear it along with a primary hangun and not notice it. It can slip in a coat or pants pocket if carrying a long gun. And it does well on it's own for just plinking or snooping around after grouse or bunnies.

Hard to beat a flat top single six. reflex264

For a .22 revolver, my idea of the "best buy" is a Ruger Single-Six convertible. Be sure to tell them you'll buy the gun if they'll sell you a brick of ammo with it.
