Given the excellent wilderness, game and strong hunting tradition in Michigan I would have expected quite a following for handgun hunting however that has not been my experience. Hopefully I have been looking in the wrong places. Wolverines are you out there?

I am planning my first deer handgun hunt opening weekend. West side of the state with S&W 460XVR...the chunky monkey.

I too am a Michigan hand gunner. I'm out right now with 460, however it a 15 inch barrelled Encore. Good luck to you.

I am a Wisconsin hand gunner. Shoot my Contenders from small game and predators to deer. I love hunting the big woods of Northern Wisconsin. I'm going to add a revolver (maybe an Encore) to my collection and am having fun trying to select the right one. I reload for all my guns so the versatility of a .460 Smith really has my interest. Good hunting to you!

I am a Wisconsin handgunner too. I will be hunting bear in Michigan's UP this fall and hope to get one with a handgun.

I just got my new Redhawk .44mag 7 1/2" at Jay's in Gaylord and plan on hunting whitetails this fall. I put a green HiViz front sight on and it made a huge difference along with a Pachmayer Presentaion grip which transformed the Redhawk into an extremely comfortable gun. I'm hand loading Hornady 240gr XTP and Nosler 240gr SP and both shoot great with IMR 4227. I mainly hunt Cheboygan County state land as well as my property.
