The Michigan firearm deer season begins Nov. 15th and this will be my first time afield with a handgun...from a portable ground blind. I know that many will shoot through the blind screens with bow or firearm however I will be using the x-frame 460 with a shooting rest and am concerned that it's pyrotechnics may torch the blind. I have become very confident with this gun in the field however have never touched it off in an enclosed environment. Perhaps I should remove the screen from at least one window. Any other 460 experience? Perhaps next time a .357

I never shoot through the screens personally. I always unzip or remove them from mine.

Be careful of where the end of barrel and cylinder gap are or you will blow holes in the blind. Try to get the muzzel outside. Also plugs or muffs are a must have item for you and anyone with you.Remove the screen.

I wouldn't personally shoot through screens UNTIL I had first practiced that way on paper to confirm there was not POI changes.

Don't shoot through blind with handguns or long guns. And another said make sure your muzzle is outside the blind. It will prevent extra holes in your nylon blind. I have been using them since they came out and use a tripod for shooting my pistols. Get everything set up before the game shows. Sure makes it nice when it is snowing or raining. Good luck.

Thank you all for the recommendations and they should make for a more enjoyable (and safer) hunt.

For handgun hunting, I have left the screens up after cutting a football shaped hole in it. I like to leave as much of the screen up as I can to keep it dark inside. I use shooting sticks as a rest with my elbows rested on my knees. My .02, YMMV.

Shoot, I even take the screens out for archery season. Knowing the 460, you'd probably melt everything in front of the muzzle. Or worse, catch something on fire.
