I am sure this has been discussed at length somewhere in this forum but I am new and don't really know how to search.
What are some accurate 44 mag factory loads (I do not reload), for deer hunting. I have a S&W 629-6 classic, it has been redone by the S&W performance center and is scoped. Gun shoots great.
Bullets are just real expensive and I would like to cull the group down. I am hearing good things about Hornady's 225 gr FTX.
All input would be appreciated.

I've experienced great accuracy with both the 240 and 300 grain Hornady loads (although the 300s are not currently available. Also really like Double Tap's 320 grain WFN load.

I was just shooting cheap Remington UMC 44 Mag 180gr JSP. They shoot very good. 4inch plates at 65yards no problem. Just wanted something a little better for deer hunting. I am not new to hunting by any means just new to hand gun deer hunting.
Like I said I just don't want to spend a ton of money trying bullet after bullet if someone can help me focus in on just a few to try.
Thanks!!

Thanks!! This ammo is good for deer. Years ago, before I got into reloading and before I learned on the internet it takes a 300gr bullet to kill a deer, I killed several whitetail with that ammo. My cousin uses it currently and it still kills 'em.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

They weren't 44 Mags, but I've found Hornady has always done well. Try the 240 grain XTP loads if you can find them.

Anything that you can reliably hit a 4" plate at 65 yds is good to go accuracy wise.
