First shot, clamp breaks. I have had 4 Weaver ring clamps break on my TC Encore .460S&W Magnum. I attributed the first three to having only 1 set (2) rings on my pistol. Now with 2 sets (4 rings) they are still breaking.

Weaver hasn't responded to any emails since the first one I sent 3 weeks ago though I've been very respectful in all of them. They did send me 2 replacement clamps within a couple of days of the first email.

There is obviously a problem with the quality of steel (pot metal) they are using for the clamps and even more with their customer service.

Dang, sorry to hear that. I wish I could remember what type of rings I put on my 460. I want to say Warne, but I think that was just the brand of the mounting base.

Thankfully have the 7-08 barrel with MILLET rings.

Chance, you have Warne scope rings on your 460. JBWhitehead, if you put 2 Warne Tactical scope rings or 2 Burris Tactical scope rings on your 460, you can eliminate all this BS and have a set of quality scope rings you can count on.

THAT is about to happen.

I was contacted by a R&D guy who seems to want to make things right. They are sending clamps from their "tactical" line which is stronger and he is asking questions; hopefully to improve their product. If so, I'll be a cheerleader for their team.

I think this guy is the real deal. Waiting to find out.

Hopefully he'll help resolve the issue.

In my experience, the chances of getting the correct food order for my family at the local drive through is better than getting quality service from Weaver.

I can say with a clear conscience that Weaver has had every opportunity to step up and do the right thing and at every step they have fallen short.

After two months, the better part of a box of shells, multiple trips to the range, MANY emails and multiple broken ring clamps they let me know they would be sending me an "upgraded" set of rings. I was allowed to choose what model of rings and I requested an mid-upper range set of their 6 screw tactical ring. After another week of waiting I received a lesser product.

Lesson learned the hard way.

Wow, you just can't catch a break, can you? On that note, I recommend Warne. Haven't ever had a problem with them, in spite of everything I've put my 460 through.

I had the same issue with my 500 and don't even want to say what I spent on ring's. Hands down WARNE MAXIMA SERIES STEEL RINGS. End of this topic. If you have a problem with the front set PM me and I'll let you know what I did to solve it. I can never get the downloading pic thing to work sorry.
