Are there any other rounds that can be fired out of a 500 S&W like you can the 460(460,454,45 LC)? Also, how about the 475 Linebaugh except the 480 Ruger? Just thinking.

Doc Except they're not nearly as common as the 45 Colt, 454 Casull, or 480 Ruger.

Doc Except they're not nearly as common as the 45 Colt, 454 Casull, or 480 Ruger. A non issue if you reload. There are only two manufacturers that I know of that produce .500 Linebaugh ammo and this never stopped me from having/shooting/hunting with one. The .500 calls are awesome on game!

Thanks guys. So there's no other rounds that can be fired out of the 475 Linebaugh? Also what would you get for maximum knockdown fired from a TC Encore? I already have a 12 inch 454 Casull and a 15 inch 460 S&W. Wild hogs are the biggest game animals around here, but Christmas is coming.

One of my early shooting mentors taught me the "Brass Rule": need has no place in gun purchases.
