I will be in my back 4 in Dutchess cty, good luck and stay safe. Also if you wound one and need tracking help don't forget about http://deersearch.org/ and or http://borntotracknews.blogspot.com/ . I have tracked with John Jeanneney and he and his dogs are downright amazing.

My areas in SE NY have been relatively dry in comparison to years past. Hope others out there have been having better luck.

Well my season was what it was a meat year whacked a six point opening morning with my sbhh 44 mag at 47 yds. Piled him up on the spot little high and back ,sat down and he jumped up ran past my stand and behind my tree . Had to change hands and shoot right handed . All i had to shoot at was his backside neck and head at 32 yds. Hit him in the neck anchoring him right there. 2 days later shot a nice fat doe exactly in the same spot double lung high shoulder shot drt. Picked another doe off at 25 yds a week later. 10 minutes in the treestand.. cold morning.. never got cold and was home drinking coffee 20 after 8. All deer shot with hornaday 44 mag 240 xtp.I had a great season. I have cell phone pics but i am technically challenged .. so i wont be posting pics. One again thanks to all the guys that helped me get going.

Very good season! Congrats!

Congrats. I never made it out. Why is it that as we get older, we get busier?

As the kids are grown i have much more time than i use too. My dad was a work aholic i vowed never to be that way. I told my wife before i married no woman would stand between me and hunting and fishing. I work a 7to 3 job weekends of job and with17 years in i have 4 weeks vacation. I live to hunt and fish .
