Was hoping to see a monster rack, but sadly the deer season in this part of PA has been pretty poor. So, the T/C was used to put some venison in the freezer.

Horns don't eat too well, and meat is meat. Good job.

And with one of my faves.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Congrats..another 7-30 W shooter...fun round to shoot and it does the job on deer. Basically same setup as mine but it looks like you have yours topped with the newer Bushenell Trophy? Correct me if I am wrong on that. What bullets do you use?

Nice job, Steve! Nothing's much better that a nice doe for the grill.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Nothing wrong with taking a doe for the freezer when Mr Big does not show.

I hate like hell to be the party pooper Steve but antlerless is not open in your part of the state until tomorrow.

"DEER (Antlered Only) WMUs 2A, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2G, 2H, 3B, 3C, 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D and 4E: Dec. 1-5. One antlered deer per hunting license year. (Holders of valid DMAP antlerless deer permits may harvest antlerless deer on DMAP properties during this period.)"

Well Jeff, you would be a party pooper, if you were correct. I was hunting in 3D and the antleless season runs from Dec 1-13.

DEER (Antlered and Antlerless) WMUs 1A, 1B, 2B, 3A, 3D, 5A, 5B, 5C and 5D: Dec. 1-13. One antlered deer per hunting license year. An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license.

As for the bullets I was using, the bullet was a Hornady 139gr SST.

LOL, I knew you say that. After I posted I thought, I wonder where he was hunting.
I love my 7x30 Waters. I have some 139gr bullets but haven't loaded them yet. What kind of penetration did you get.
BTW, good shooting.

Jeff

Shot was about 50 yards and I hit it a little farther back than I would have liked. I had complete penetration, in one side, out the other.

Won't have to go out in the rain tomorrow, although bear is still in for 3D, but I'll be out all next week looking for those big, old smart bucks that made it through the first week.

Nice! It's the only caliber I own that I have never hunted with!! Fortunately for me, life has been able to provide more choices than should be legal!! Heck, I even killed a Doe with Dan B's (now mine) 357 Herrett!
