I have been traveling a lot lately but when I got back late last night, it was like Christmas a little early. As you know, I keep a running order with Barranti Leather, that means about every six months or so, my name is up and we decide what I need at the time. Well, thus one snuck up on me and I didn't know what I wanted when Mike called. I knew I needed a rig for my FA with a deltapoint sight but had no clue what I wanted until he told me he had something special he wanted me to see. When I saw what he had in mind, it made my decision easy! Being this close to Christmas, thankfully, Mike is set up with PayPal and can take a debit/cc over the phone which can come in handy LOL! I highly recommend the multiple order deal because it keeps things always moving and it's like having a couple birthdays during the year. What we decided on was a crossdraw NW Mountain Companion made with Cape buffalo leather. It is cut with a recess to allow the deltapoint room on the top strap. It looks like it was made around the gun it fits so well! His attention to detail is astonishing. Rides on the belt effortlessly. If you haven't tried any of Mikes work, you owe it to yourself to buy some.

NOW, that would have been a great surprise but I had one more. On my way back to KS yesterday, I had the pleasure of spending a couple hours in Grenada MS with Kral from here on the forum. It was awesome spending time talking sixguns and knives! I knew I had a box at home from Kim waiting and was anxious to get home and open it. As you may know, he has started making knives that he sells and takes orders for. This was the first of several that I am expecting from Grenada! This pieces exudes quality and attention to detail. The thickness of the handle is so perfect that you just have to hold it to appreciate it. It's one of the first things I look for in a knife. His blades are D2 steel and made completely by hand from the bar stock to the finish. No shortcuts here and not mass production. It is truly a labor of love for Kim at this point. The balance on this little caper is extraordinary. I plan to give it a thorough workout this weekend. The finish of the knife in general is impeccable and flawless. Mosaic pins are perfectly flush with micarta scales and the blade is free from any imperfections. An outstanding knife that will last generations! Kim's logo is one of the coolest I've seen by the way :). Stay tuned, there are more to see coming from Grenada.

I'm truly blessed to call some truly talented individuals friends. The mere fact that the two gentlemen mentioned above can turn out these products with their bare hands just amazes me. They have a vision that I do not posses and the final products give me great pride of ownership knowing they were handmade by friends.

Hope you like the pics!

Glenn,
Thanks for the kind words, but don't put me to high on a pedestal; it hurts worse when ya fall off.

Glenn and I had a good ole cup of McDonald's coffee and had a great conversation about handguns and knives; two of my favorite past times when not hunt'n.

It's always cool to actually meet some of the members from this site.

....and that holster is still Gorgeous!

The knife and holster are both beautiful. I,m sure you will put them both to good use. You have a knack for choosing quality tools and the folks who make them.

They definately are!
