I have been using BulletDrop. A free iphone app. I find it accurate and helpful. Has anyone else used it?

Billa,
I haven't - I'll have to check it out! I've been using Ballistic AE for my Precision R***e needs, and applied it for my Single Shot Pistol work as well.

Billa, I have it on my phone; it's good for reference.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I run the tables for my favorite hunting loads and sight in zeros then take a screenshot photo. You can print it or keep it in your camera roll for quick reference.

Billa,

It is the reason I got an iPhone to start with. IMO that app is worth the price of the iphone. I am not sure if it is still true but for years the app was only written for iPhones, iPods and iPads.

Has anyone else tried the one on Hornady's website? It's not an app, but still.

I'm with the AE crowd. Works great!

Doc,
My fav for the droid is "Shooter'. I also use Strelok and have a couple of accessory programs like Range Calculator. I once used Shooter to ding a small piece of steel at 500+ yards, first shot, at high elevation, on a load that had only been zeroed at 100 at much lower elevation. Used my 6x45 AR. Was pretty pleased at the number crunching results.

Since the phone is on the company plan I can't be downloading apps that cost. I assume the charges come on the bill?

I have the bullet drop free app on mine. Just gotta know the bal coef of the bullet. I been shooting long enough to have a close guess for a quick estimate or you can look it up from bullet maker site. I think you would want to verify shooting the gun for "exact" anyway. I aint payin for squat on an app. 😛
Im not doing any shooting currently.....for whatever thats worth.

I would say all you have to do is establish a Apple account in the with your own credit card. This is required even for free apps. Then you can not only download apps, but make purchases in the iTunes store. It is also required to have an Apple id for the backing up of you phone on the iCloud incase you phone is lost, broken or stolen. BTW you should also have the app Find my Phone for just such an instance. Not only can it locate you phone you can remotely erase the data, but it can be restored from the cloud to it or a new phone.
