Stop by one of the local gun shops and he had a used 454 Casull Super Blackhawk in a satin stainless for sale with a Burris 2x6 scope. I like the feel and it was in great shape but when I got home to look for some info I can't find any. He did say they don't make it anymore.
Any info you can give would be great.

He was asking $899. Is that a good price?

No Blackhawk has ever been built by Ruger in .454 Casull. That is a custom proposition only at this point. Are you sure it wasn't a Super Redhawk? The Super REdhawk is the only revolver chambered by the Ruger factory in .454 and it is still being produced.

Are you certain it wasn't a Super Redhawk (double action)? Ruger did not make a SBH in 454 Casull - it certainly could be custom conversion, but you rarely see them.

I must be a Redhawk. He must have said the wrong model.

Is that a fair price for a Redhawk?

I bought a brand new Ruger Super Redhawk in 44MAG for $874.

Of course the gun you're looking at has a scope that's probably worth a couple hundred dollars on it too.

Not a bad price considering, but not a GREAT price IMO.

It depends on the scope - either the Bushnell Elite 2-6 or the Burris 2-7 is a $175-200 scope in used condition. If it's the 2-6 Bushnell Trophy, more like $100.

If you're planning on keeping it scoped, either of the two first options above make it and OK deal, but not a steal by any means. Gunbroker shows NIB options going in the $850 range.

Super Redhawk, not a Redhawk. Two different models. The new retail price is right around $800 and some change. I have one of the new ones and it is ridiculously accurate.
