Good evening everyone. I have fallen in love with another wheel gun. My friend brought his father's Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 to the range today. Wow, what a gun. We were shooting 240 Hornady factory fodder and the gun shot very well. I was able to manage a 4" at 50 yards. I didn't think that was too shabby for me. The recoil wasn't bad either. I believe I need to start saving my pennies now.

I still haven't got the grips on my 41 magnum straight, I may order some this week. My hits on paper are high, and I found myself healing the gun and letting my wrist break when touching off. Now I just need to improve my shooting form and spend some time at the range.

I drilled and tapped the blackhawk and installed a See All sight. I highly recommend this sight. It is very easy and quick to point. I feel the price is a bit much for it, but it fits my needs well.

.454 or .480.
I just can't decide.

Glad you've found a new target, so to speak.

I haven't played with a 480 yet. From a ballistic standpoint, it looks good. I would like to give it a day in court. That was going to be my next caliber of choice if the 454 wasn't my cup of tea.

That 454 has a very pronounced concussion for the mild recoil it produces.

The SRH in all calibers is highly touted on here, and everywhere as far as that goes. I was originally wanting the SRH a .454 but had a lot of questions about the .480 and started reading older posts on here. Then the current post on the .480 popped up and "Katy bar the door", it's time for new dies, bullets, powder....oh, and a new revolver.
