I've done it again, I have no self control. Went to see my local pusher and just had to have it. I have no handguns with scopes and have been thinking of getting one for deer. There was a New Model Super Blackhawk, blued with a Leupold 2X scope under the glass. I asked to see it. Asked if they could do better on the price. Since they know me by name the answer was, "of course". Liking the price i said SOLD!

I think I need a support group for my problem.

If you looking for help getting out of this addiction you in wrong place. I started reloading because of this site and own more barrels and guns than I can hunt with. Actually it's not a place to be. You have plenty of friends here with same addiction.

I've found a lot of 'enablers' here. So much so, I went from one Encore with 2 barrels to one Encore with 3 barrels, two revolvers and a complete set of reloading equipment that now spits out my own ammo.

And the itch hasn't really subsided any.

Just go ahead and buy a BIGGER safe now. You will need it . Don't forget the custom knives and leather.

it scares me. I first joined this forum in 2005. when I look back at all the revolvers I have bought then sold since then it makes my head spin. I had quite a collection of S&W's that I sold off to customize others. I look at the prices those same models are getting now and I wish I still had them.I bought and sold the same Freedom Arms twice! and the custom knives I have had pass through my hands.....good lord.

My theory was to simplify and only own what I am going to use for hunting. Knives and guns. That worked for a while, but here I am , buying more because I have a niche to fill.

Yup. I'm an addict.

Ahh hell it ain't so bad, at least you have like minded junkies to talk and compare notes with. One can never have too many toys !But when the chips are down and the hunt or your a@# are on the line, and you find yourself reaching for that old familiar trusted friend, gun or knife, those you never sell!!!!!!!!!

You are relatively new to the addiction and can still[ probably] count all of your fixes on both hands . Some of us have been at it longer and have lost count,a while ago!!!!!!!!!!

You have the best support group that there is. Who else can understand what you are going through except another gun loony. I am also with raptor and I see not quitting here either. Good luck and make sure none of those fine shooting piece get lonely in the gun safe. Buy them companions.

Do not feel bad I went to buy this past weekend a Taurus 992 revolver and came with a Ruger SS MK III.

Oh god, you guys are as bad as me!!!

Junebug, Your right. There are several I will never sell. One is the first one I ever owned. A S&W model 19-3 6" barrel. sold to me by my brother for $150. He was the original pusher. he did that just to get me started that was back in the fall of '99.

But THE one that will be pried from my cold dead hands is my Blackhawk .357 converted to .44 Special with 5.5" octogan barrel, and Elmer Keith #5 grip frame. It goes deer hunting with me all the time, and even flew out to Arizona and Wyoming to hunt lion with me. It will be going back to AZ in March with me on another lion hunt.

Hey Raptortrapper, On a whim, do you know Andy Hahn in Vegas or Denise Casey in Colorado? Both are falconers as well?

Zee, all in good time. dvan, your not alone, I have done that myself from time to time. They ust call out to you!!!

I've taken lions in Utah and Idaho, but have never hunted them on dry ground like you did in Arizona. Best of luck on your next hunt, and thanks for the photos!

A Harton gun and Barranti leather ... you're doin' it in style!

IT'S HERE!!!

Picked it up today.

I want to get rid of the Pachy's though. If anyone has a set of beat up old SBH New Model grips laying around, I am interested. Don't care how worn they are, just no splits, cracks or chips. Thanks in advance.

I am an addict too! I just received a new to me 7x30 waters barrel for my contender. This puts me at 7 barrels and two hunting revolves now. I fire formed my first brass and I am so excited. I cannot believe I was so intimidated by idea of fire forming brass. See my post for details on shooters bench.

If there is a cure for Contenderitis I do not want it.

P.S. I had to promise my wife no more barrels. I have all I need. That does not include revolvers. Now to find that Target grey 454 Super Redhawk.

Never make promises you can't keep

You know need has nothing to do with it.
