I fire formed my first brass today. It is amazing how that works. I took some 30-30 brass and necked it down to 7mm and let the powder do the rest. After reading various post about fire forming it seemed intimidating. Some post made it sound very complex and others very simple. If you are contemplating a round but it requires fire forming don't sweat it. I followed the basic instructions. Minimum powder load and set the bullet at the maximum overall cartridge length. The next part is easy go out and shoot them. The double tapers disappear and become one new taper. I am still amazed. Another strange note. It was cheaper to buy a box of 30-30 ammo and pull the bullets than to buy 20 empty cases. Go figure.

I use to do a lot of my stuff with 4-6 gr of bullseye and a cotton ball.
Works pretty good and you don't waste a bullet.

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I have fireformed many hundreds of cases to "improved" design. In doing so, i got lots of practice and fun! I do not waste one bullet. 😉
