I decided to skip the 1st half of the super bowl and went hog hunting this afternoon. The weather was good - we had about a 1/4 inch of rain yesterday and it cleared off this morning. I just about froze though. I don't know what I was thinking when I left the house even though it was almost 70. Only a t-shirt and a light outer shirt. By dark it was 50 degrees and the wind was blowing about 15. Brrr. This was my first kill with my 10" FA 44 Magnum. It shoots lights out at 100 yards and I'm pretty sure I could hit a golf ball with a good rest. I shot her at about 50 yards off hand. I had heard pigs and was moving to intercept when I spotted her broadside along the edge of a drainage. We almost walked past each other. Fortunately I was just inside the cover.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Great shot! Do you have a scope on that revolver or were you shooting open sights?

good shooting! if I had a 44 mag, that 270 speer would look awfully inviting to try...

It hammered her pretty good that's for sure. I didn't keep any of the meat. I didn't feel like fooling with it and I was freezing my arse off. I didn't take a jacket and the temp dropped nearly 20 degrees in 4 hours and the wind got up out of the North.

Good shot and trophy. Just put the FF3 on my new SRH. I'm off work for the next 7 days so it'll be to the island as much as possible with the same targets in mind.
Don't care if it's a great big boar or middlin sow. It's go time.
Lead, push or get the heck out of the way!
