Picked up an old Smith & Wesson brochure on handgun hunting. Its a little dated but interesting none the less....

I agree, very neat, James. Although, 1.5 million handgun hunters seems like a generous estimate.

It is amazing, put out by S&W yet they mention using guns that S&W didn't make . Don't think you will find that nowdays. And I agree, handgun hunting, plinking, target shooting all great pastimes. I have my 10 year old grandson shooting my 4" 686 with .38 loads,he is willing to put down the video games for that !!!!

Neat find, James.

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

That's neat. I enjoy older stuff like that. Even back then, they admit that we (handgun hunters) are the experts.

That was my first thought too. Their interest seemed to be more in growing the sport than simply pushing their own product.

They purchased S&W in 1970. My oldest M29 from 1971 actually has the Bangor Punta Company logo on one side. They were an acquisition company that had major investments in lots of businesses.

James, Very cool item.
S&W was under Lear Siegler ownership from 1984 thru 1987. I remember seeing these at IHMSA matches at the handout table. I think I have one somewhere.
