Ike,

Welcome to the forum. You have the pleasure of living in a state that has caliber, energy and barrel length restrictions on big game hunting with handguns. Your 10mm falls right at this energy line with many loads, much the same as my 45 Super's or Rowlands.

Thankfully this does not apply to small game. Just pick your bullet type carefully, if you plan on eating rather than just exterminating. Hollow points kinda suck on things like grouse and bunnies. It's really nice that the 10mm has "caught on" again, as there is no shortage of bullet types and energy levels with factory ammo.

i ahve a sw 1006, havent shot anything yet but I always have it while deer hunting. Probably one of my favorite guns tpo shoot. Wish it wasnt so heavy i'd like to use as my carry gun but i just dont have enough body to hide it.

going to try my luck this weekend on small game. Always have used my s&w 44mag or f/a 454casull. Also an encore in 308 and my favorite 375jdj.

I use an EAA Witness Hunter with 200gr Hornady XTP's. Got a new Kimber this year added a burris fastfire, still trying new loads to determine which works best.

I have a Glock 29. Very accurate, would not hesitate to take a deer at bow ranges

This cartridge would not be my first choice for small game. It seems like a cartridge well suited for medium game. I have even heard of Alaskans and Non Alaskans using the round for bear defense, again not my first choice.

Razor Dobbs has killed nearly everything with it up to elk with no issues.
