I noticed CCI does not recommend the use of their .22 magnum jacketed ammo in revolvers due to "undersized bore". Is this a no go for CCI or any other brands? Charlie
It is my understanding that the Ruger Single action 22's have a .224 bore as required for .22 WMR ammo rather than the .223 bore size found in many .22 revolvers.
There have been countless .312" bullets fired through .308" groove T/C barrels that were chambered in 32-20 and 32 Mag. I don't know that .001" would cause much worry. I sure wouldn't be all that concerned.
Perhaps CCI's recommendation is lawyer talk so if something did happen even if that wasn't the cause it could not be used in the courtroom because you were warned.
I had just picked up a used Single Six .22/.22Mag and a box of CCI .22 Mag ammo then saw the comment on the CCI website and thought "what is this"? Agree with RHH that the comment is most likely a CYA. Thanks for the replies. Charlie
