I have come to the conclusion that as much as I love my 375JDJ. I prefer to plink with my 30-30 and 7x30 barrels.

Makes sense. Less recoil.

I think the smaller calibers let you work on form and grip better than the heavy hitters. They don't punish you so bad.30 rounds of 30-30 or 7-30 don't leave most people's hand stinging like 10 rounds of 45-70 in my 12 in barrel Contender or . Artheritis from my work makes me limit my bigbore these days, somedays a .357 is too much. Then the .22 come's out and I work on trigger control and form. How big is too big varies from day to day.Had the 10 1/2 in .44 out last week and 6 rounds was 5 too many.

I think lessening the recoil makes perfect sense. It is probably a bit cheaper too. The fact that you can use the same frame with different barrels gives you an edge as well......same trigger and feel.

I was taught how to shoot a pistol on a .22LR for 2 reasons: low recoil and low expense. But that was when you could find and afford .22 ammo...

I like shooting any and every gun. Just some more than others.

I agree. I shoot my big ones a lot, but the smaller ones much more. my 7-30 waters is a cream puff compared to my 375jdj and others.
